What is the most exclusive Ferrari in the world? The FF? The F40? Its forgotten younger sister the F50? Okay, I’ll give you a clue: it weighs just 37kg, costs $246,760 (906,226 AED), and – get this – there’s only one released per country. Give up?
It’s called the Diamante. Those of you expecting lbf-ft, rpm, and top kph figures may leave hungry: the Ferrari Diamante is actually a book.
Designed, edited and bound by publishing house Kraken, the Diamante is part of a 13-strong range of Opus special edition hardbacks, which commemorate some of the world’s most high-profile marques: Viviane Westwood, Saatchi, Major League Baseball, and Michael Jackson have all received their own Opus.
After adding support beams to your coffee table, there’s plenty of exclusive content to flick through. A personal history of old man Enzo himself is intertwined with a chronological description of the brand’s rise to prominence, and includes exclusive interviews with Michael Schumacher, Niki Lauda, Jean Todt, and current figurehead Luca Di Montezemolo, among others. That’s not even mentioning the diamond-encrusted prancing horse atop the leather bound cover.
For those who’d rather spend the extra $15.900 on spec-ing their Ferrari California, there are three ‘cheaper’ alternative editions available. The $4100 (15,057 AED) Classic Edition comes signed by current F1 drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, while Ferrari legends Nigel Mansell, John Surtees and Stirling Moss autograph the Cavallino Rampante. Only 400 of you though can get your hands on the Enzo and its carbon fibre protective clamshell.
Motorsport fans may be interested to know that Formula One has also received its own Kraken Opus treatment. Only 100 copies of the Champion’s Edition have been released into the wild, but include exclusive content concerning F1’s past, present, future, technological prowess, circuits, drivers, ringmasters, and playboys. All for just $31,800 (116,925 AED).
