What is causing a bit of confusion is the beautifully designed silver paddles on the steering wheel, which changes the powertrain from electric to engine. They are placed where you would normally find paddle shift controls on other sporting models, and second nature means I keep changing from Stealth to Sport without realising as my fingers instinctively ‘shift’ up and down through the non-existent gearbox.
Back at base camp at the Al-Badia Golf Club, there’s a lot to think about. So far the Karma has proven a hit on looks but lost a few points on performance. In fairness though, a fifteen-minute drive on Dubai’s almost completely straight highways hardly warrants an extensive test.
It’s worth mentioning that the new Karma will arrive in the region in mid-November. Stealth certainly won’t save Fisker from crankandpiston’s advances then.
