As you can imagine, very rarely does ‘the gold standard’ come without effort and meticulous attention to detail. The frankly staggering 200 man hours that have gone into the process already verifies this. And even after the power output has been optimized, there’s still a lot to do before these GTRs will be ready to roll out the shuttered doors.

All of them! We check for leaks, holes, stray ends, brake fade, fluids. Often we just get underneath and start pulling on stuff to see if it moves! In our business, safety comes first. Unsurprisingly, a typical day in the Alpha Logic workshop for the tuners can last up to 14 hours. And even then, the working day is far from over. Come 11pm Sharif may be ready to call it a day in Dubai, but his American commitments will have only just stared there’s. Cue a couple of hundred emails and phone calls, and another few hours of work before he finally staggers into bed.
“Part of my job is setting the standards and the expectations, the ‘hey, this is very achievable, and has a very high likelihood for success’. Honestly though, I just come in at the end and put the final polish on! It’s these guys who do the real work.”

Many would disagree. Indeed, as our conversation draws to a close, Sharif is already heading back to the laptops, analyzing this, tweaking that and making sure all is as it should be.
