Stumbling across phrases like ‘oozes speed and adrenaline’ in a press release are usually enough to prick our ears up. Throw ‘true racing machine’ into the mix and that’s another game changer. Add ‘‘Silverstone’ and ‘Stowe’, and crankandpiston is pretty much sold.
What we have here is a Graham Silverstone Stowe Racing example from reputed watchmakers, Graham. The brand itself is named after 18th century British horologist George Graham but is run today by Eric Loth. And he’s something of a petrol nut.
So much so that the company’s latest range is inspired by Silverstone’s legendary Stowe corner, and that means more than just borrowing the name. Take for example the oval pushers on the side. Each boasts the same surface grip as an accelerator pedal.
There’s also a tachymeter scale for speed calculations, and the customary black tyre-tread strap. And if lemon yellow’s not really your colour, you could try Night Racer and Black Racer in the Luffield range.
But if you’re the kind of person who simply must have a GT version of everything, there’s also the Luffield GMT line-up in which you’ll find the Classic Steel and Gold models. We’re not too sure how much the performance is improved, but we’re pretty certain your neighbours will be asking you for a go.
