Seems the floodgates are well and truly open now. Just a few days after AF Corse and the fledgling ASM Team announced their respective entries for the second Gulf 12hrs endurance race, four more teams have thrown down the gauntlet.
Runner-up in January, Kessel Racing has followed the example of key rivals AF Corse and United Autosports by confirming its entry. Two Ferraris have already been confirmed, with Philipp Peter, Michael Broniszewski, Antonio Coimbra and Miguel Ramos likely to continue driving duties. Work is currently underway at the Swiss outfit to expand the assault to three cars.
From the world of touring cars, ROAL Motorsport will field a BMW Z4 GT3. Alongside tin-top star Tom Coronel, driving duties will be undertaken by Stefano Colombo, Michela Cerruti and Edoardo Liberati, a quartet who recently competed in the Pro-Am category at the Spa 24hrs.
After securing pole position for January’s race, luck went quickly downhill thereafter for the Avelon Formula crew. They will be hoping for greater luck this time for the pair of Wolf GB08 chassis they will field, as will new Euroseries Champion Ivan Bellarosa, one of the team’s confirmed drivers.
