So you’re fresh-faced Formula 1 driver Kevin Magnussen, and you’re back in your home country of Denmark. Your employers, McLaren, give you a new 650S to drive. Do you take it easy, and meander around the local streets, soaking up the sights?
No, of course not. You drive the rubber off it. Kevin was giving passenger rides around public streets as part of the Racing Festival in Roskilde, and this clip from BilVideo gives us an idea of what that’s like. To summarise – fast, sideways and inches away from threatening concrete barriers. According to the makers, the top speed around Roskilde’s city streets was almost 280kph.
We’re sure his dad, fellow racing driver Jan Magnussen, will be proud.
