The boys from Chopped Magazine put on a fine weekend up in Newstead near Castlemaine. Only in it’s second year, the event pulled in a fantastic number of cars, some coming from as far as New South Wales and Adelaide just for the trip.

Aimed at the more ‘traditional’ hot rodder, the rules to get in were very specific to the year and look of the cars. Like it or loathe it, this policing made for a very unique vibe around the show. I’m not going to argue one way or the other about banning certain cars from coming in. All I can say is that the general look and feel of the whole weekend was great.

As per the last few shows at which I have been trading with the magazine, I met some very interesting people that wanted to stop by the stand and chat about the mag. This is becoming one of the rewarding aspects of trading at these events.. actually talking to my customer base, telling them where Fuel is coming from, and getting some valuable feedback about the look and the content.

Sales were good, and if the support carries on at the rate that it’s going I will be in a good position to get another mag done in the new year. Here’s hoping it all keeps moving along and Fuel Magazine can keep going in to 2010.
