How hot does your car get when left in the Middle Eastern sun? The answer will surprise you….
If you live in the Middle East, chances are you went to your car this morning, opened it, sat down, and went “AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH”. The hot car seat. Happens to the best of us.
We’ve just hit the 45°C mark in Dubai, the technical term for which is ‘hot as balls’. But of course that’s just the outside temperature. Imagine how hot it must get in the cabin when the A/C isn’t belting its lungs at full pace.
Leave your car parked outside in 32°C temperatures and within 10 minutes, the heat in the cabin will have hit 42°C. In 20 minutes it will be 49°C, in 30 minutes it will be 51°C, and after 40 minutes – quite incredibly – the temperature will have hit 56°C. Give it 30 minutes to an hour and you’ll have a medium-rare steak, also known as Rover, the former family pet. Or your three-year old son.
