Images of new, 567bhp Jaguar F-TYPE SVR leaked ahead Geneva Motor Show debut
[Not a valid template]Talk about the cat being out of the bag. Ahead of its anticipated debut at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, images of the new Jaguar F-TYPE SVR from a new sales brochure have been leaked online, giving us our first look at the most powerful production Jaguar yet.
Developed in-house by Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations division, the latest F-TYPE is the first Jaguar to wear the company’s SVR badge, following in the footsteps of last year’s Range Rover Sport SVR. It is also powered by the same 5-litre supercharged V8 as the limited edition Project 7, albeit pushing 567bhp and 700Nm (516lb ft) of torque, enough for a 0-100kph time of 3.7 seconds. Outgunning the current top dog ‘R’ model by 25bhp, the SVR also hits 322kph, 23kph up on the F-TYPE R.
Though final performance and technical figures have yet to be released, the new supercharged V8 is set to be mated with a eight-speed automatic transmission configured with an all-wheel drive setup. Available in either coupe or convertible guise, the SVR is also set to include stiffer suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes, and a titanium exhaust system (now 12kg lighter), as well as a fixed rear wing and revised spoiler, a new splitter, and wider lightweight wheels.
Speculation may be rife, but that hasn’t stopped industry insiders suggesting a $145K price tag for the new SVR.
