The men at the top within Jaguar Cars are, so we believe, chatting quite favourably about building the car they have been waiting for since the demise of the XJ220. We all know it works – just look at the Germans for instance with the Audi R8 and Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. However having discussed this at great length, they have the breadth of brand to be able to pull this off (ever wondered why BMW always fail with Supercars) and not to mention, depth of engineering. Jaguar have some of, if not the finest engineers on the planet but I think it is fair to say they are spread thin and not really sitting around twiddling their thumbs.

“Our job as designers is to destabilise things,” A great quote from Ian Callum. I think it is fair to say that this car has certainly done that and “It’s no secret that the reception we’ve had for C-X75 has been fantastic,” he added. “The company won’t allow such a reaction to be lost without at least having a detailed discussion about how it can best be harnessed.”

I seem to remember the last time words like this left Gaydon, a certain little Land Rover LRX had just been shown to the world. And we all know what happened there.

Come on then guys, make it happen! You can worry about drivetrain and the use of Turbines at a later date. If Jaguar nailed both, it would certainly put the stamp across their charge back to being squarely on the map when it came to design, desirability, engineering and pure sexiness.

  1. The Jaguar C-X75 is truly gorgeous, it’s a futuristic and super modern looking car while still retaining the classic Jaguar elegance and style. A definite winner for sure.
