When camouflaged images of the F-Type emerged (with the name officially confirmed), speculation was rife: whether it was a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 or a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 idled under the bonnet, nobody knew for sure. A convertible would be hitting the automotive scene, and one that would go head-to-head with the Porsche 911. But what the new model would actually look like in the metal still remained a barely covered mystery.
With petrolheads clammering at Jaguar’s door, the marque threw one last piece of bait into the automotive water. One-by-one, a series of ‘F’ titled video clips began to work their way through the marque’s social network channels. Finally, the exhaust valves breathed life, and the Big Cat sang for the first time.
But that gravy train has now ceased. The company has sent out its last video, and all eyes now lie on the Paris Motor Show. crankandpiston’s eagle-eyed snappers are already poised, Canon in hand, waiting for the flick of a wrist and the roadster’s protective cover to hit the floor.
You didn’t honestly think we were going to wait, did you?
