Jaguar’s most exclusive road-going model – the mental Project 7 – has now arrived in the Middle East, with customer deliveries set to take place soon. And if you haven’t already forked over your deposit cheques, chances are each of the 250 examples has already been collared.
Sitting atop the base of Jaguar’s F-TYPE roadster and kitted out with the company’s established 5-litre supercharged V8, Project 7 kicks out 575hp and 680Nm (502lb ft) of torque, which equates to 0-100kph in 3.9 seconds and an electronically limited 300kph top speed. So yes, rather sprightly this new feline.
Nimble too, with Carbon Ceramic Matrix brakes, 20in Storm alloys clad with high performance Continentals, and Special Vehicle Operations-engineered front suspension having all been updated for maximum attack, making Project 7 ‘the most performance-focused derivative of the acclaimed F-TYPE range’ yet. First teased as a concept in 2013, the two-seater made its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and has retained its aesthetic nod to the company’s seven 24 Hours of Le Mans victories ever since.
