Hands up: how many of you want a 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR Turbo made out of LEGO?
[Not a valid template]Last month, Mr Davison introduced us all to a LEGO Boxer engine. ‘That’s it’ came the cry about the crankandpiston oval office, ‘nothing we will ever post will be as good as that’ (not even a Lotus motorbike). I beg to differ…
The sublime creature you see above is a LEGO Porsche 911 Carrera RSR Turbo 2.1 from 1974, complete with all new bodylines and square-jarred curves. The original beast had a 2.1-litre boxer flat-six that kicked out 500hp, a 300kph top speed thanks to an 825kg kerb weight, those superb Martini Racing colours, and went on to take second overall at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Gijs van Lennep and Herbert Müller: the pork(a) in an Equipe Gitanes Matra sandwich that year.
If the outside isn’t awesome enough (complete with Martini stickers), panels slide out to reveal the flat-six beneath whilst both doors open to glean you access to the cockpit.
