As well as the occasional Radical Cup racer and a Lamborghini or two, we stumbled across a Porsche 911 GT3 RS 40. Produced in typically limited numbers, this stripped out, race spec edition of the already revered GT car will hit 100kph in 3.9s and power through to 310kph.

And yet the Porsche is still not the most exclusive car in the garage. Take for instance the Ascari KRZ1, the high profile replacement to the British marque’s A10. Only 50 were confirmed for production, each costing an eye-watering $373,000. This price did at least include track time at the resort though to showcase its 5.0l V8 grunt.

Squirrelled away behind the circuit’s Lotus Elise fleet, and a cheeky 458 Italia, we even stumbled across this Ferrari Dayto…er, GTB/4. Though Pininfarina’s influence was still in high demand at Maranello in the late sixties/early seventies, the GTB/4’s sharper edged styling seemed more akin to Lamborghini. Still the GTB/4 was undeniably cool, and when it sealed a 1-2-3 at the 1967 Daytona 24 Hours, a legacy was born.
