The Parmigiani Fleurier Bugatti partnership isn’t exactly anything new, but it has a new watch design based on the new Chiron model.

It seemed only a matter of time, following the hypercar’s debut at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, that soon the Bugatti Chiron would inspire a brand new watch. Step forward Swiss entrepreneurs Parmigiani Fleurier and the new PF-Bugatti 390 Concept. Parmigiani – which, as the below video shows, has been working with the luxury car marque for the past 11 years – conceived the PF-390 as a motor-block on the wrist, and was designed to represent a ‘new generation of Bugatti timekeepers.’ We can only imagine this means the new Bugatti chronograph will run faster than its predecessor, be spotted mostly in and around London, and cost the Volkswagen Group a sweet couple of million during development (though we’ll admit we may have read too much into that).
Among the key design elements are the visible works, a case inspired by the Chiron’s profile and alloys, and a unique tubular movement with a tourbillon regulator at the end, the workings of which we imagine could be more complex than the 1500bhp turbocharged W16 powering the hypercar itself. In a nutshell, the movements are separated into two compartments, which work in sync together to mimic the motion of an engine.
Prices for the PF-Bugatti 390 Concept have yet to be released, but don’t expect it to be cheap. The Veyron-inspired Mythe cost close to $430,000. You do the math.
