Mohammed Jawa from Saudi Arabia is looking forward to the first race in Bahrain in two weeks’ time. “I thought the car was fantastic, I adapted very quickly to its downforce, weight and power – which are all very different to cars I have raced in the past. This is my first time racing in a GT car.”
Jawa is racing in the Maserati Trofeo JBF RAK series with other members of GR8 Racing Team who are based in Saudi Arabia. ‘We were attracted to the series because all the cars are the same, so this will guarantee close competition between all of the drivers. Each driver is allocated a car to race for the full series with support from their own dedicated mechanic to ensure the car is primed and ready for every race. The first round of the Maserati Trofeo JBF RAK series is the headline race of Bahrain International Circuit’s Speed Weekend which takes place from December 2nd-3rd. The series returns to Bahrain on the 6th and 7th of January, before visiting Yas Marina three weeks later (January 26th-27th).
