The following day, I took the MP4-12C on a journey to the Jebal Hafeet mountain range in Al Ain, and it was here where the beast awakened. Oh my word, how different the car is in Race Mode and on a tight, twisting road! It is unbelievable how the car’s personality changes in different settings and driving styles. It is a very easy car to drive on the limit. You always feel in control, as it is so responsive. As you can tell, my appreciation of the car grew over time.
Comparing the McLaren to other supercars is difficult. But after much thought, I would probably rank it between the Porsche 911 Turbo and the Bugatti Veyron, closer to the Porsche for sure. It’s a car that is appreciated more for its technical prowess rather than its artistic appeal, something the Italian names master better. Saying that, the MP4-12C is a car that grows on you. Liking it is an acquired taste, which has its advantages. Acquired taste lasts longer than ‘love at first sight’.

I guess he was testing out ride compliance in the dreaded JBR area 😛
I try to avoid that area as my GTR unsettles my spine in the JBR

“The first evening was spent cruising The Walk in Dubai’s Jumeirah Beach Residence”… I just hope this is a joke? Achieving an average speed of less than 5 km/h and dealing with millions of speed bumps is called cruising? I personally would classify that as showing off?
