Now though, it’s official: this is the P1, the follow-up to the McLaren MP4-12C and the ‘next exciting chapter’ for McLaren Automotive which will be previewed at this month’s Paris Motor Show.
Now, apologies to knock you from Cloud 9 so quickly, but this ‘design study’ is not the full monty production version that will get the go ahead next year. What we can tell you though is that the new production model has an enormous mountain to climb if it is to become, as McLaren hopes, ‘the best driver’s car in the world on road and track’.
