I have only recently fallen into the Mercedes trap and seem to be finding Mercs dotted throughout their long and fruitful history that really do it for me. Having fallen head of heels for my W124 500e, I started doing what any regular petrol head does and hit the likes of youtube, flickr etc hawking for images and videos to help the inspiration juices…not that I really need to do that!!!
That’s when I stumbled across this video; well in fact it was also while I was investigating the Berg Cup Hill Climb championship held in Germany. So take one French Super Touring Car Championship Mercedes 190 that managed to find itself in limbo after the FIA moved the goal posts..throw in an epic Judd V8 motor and bam! Old Skool perfection is created.
Any way, while I digress and disappear into another dreamland, turn it UP…feel the excitement and revel in the absolute awesomeness of the orchestra of cylinders…

Hi Phil – I thought this Merc 190E street race clip was far more entertaining than the Tanner Frost street drift, which was just insane. Enjoyed both, but if I had to choose, i’d rather be sitting in the Merc!
