Mercedes-Benz unveils the sporty new Concept GLA 45 AMG at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Good spot. The rear wing, red brake callipers and tail lip roof spoiler signify that this is a new AMG performance model from Mercedes-Benz. What is perhaps of more interest though is this new Mercedes Concept GLA 45 AMG is the 2.0-litre turbocharged unit under the bonnet, described the company as ‘the most muscular four-cylinder engine in series production’.
Chucking out 360hp and 332lb ft of torque through the AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive system – and utilising an AMG seven-speed Speedshift transmission – the Mercedes Concept GLA 45 AMG takes under five seconds to hit 100kph from standstill.
Also of note on the outside are large front splitter in high-gloss black, large air intakes, a ‘twin blade’ radiator grille, an AMG sports exhaust system with high-gloss black tailpipes, and 21-inch alloys, in a cheeky matt black with a red rim flange. Finishing off the sporty look is a silver grey/red foil wrap on the bonnet, vehicle sides, C-pillar and bootli
