Cast your mind back to the time of the muscle car. The first generation muscle era, not 2006. Just imagine, if you’re too young to have been there. Cast your mind back to a time when a rather bright dude stuck in the Ford Motor Company engineering/product department* decided that mixing a utilitarian, mass-produced brick of a car with a really serious motor would be a good idea. (*Having worked in the auto industry for more than a decade, we know these decisions start in very different places to those that history teaches us.)

The cars that made it out onto the road were not well engineered items that conformed to noise/vibration and harness tests; far from it.
