2. Vuhl 05RR
[Not a valid template]Mexico’s ‘most exhilarating export and precision-engineered lightweight supercar’ has already made its Goodwood debut. Saying that, ticket-holders and YouTube Live Stream watchers [hint hint] will have to wait until Friday before the new 05RR makes its dynamic debut on the hill, former Formula 3 champion and Manor Formula 1 development driver Jordan King taking the honours on that occasion.
And yes, speed freaks should be excited about this one. Granted the 05 base was no soggy lump of blancmange to begin with, courtesy of 285bhp and a 245kph top speed. But thanks to a revised aero package, extensive wind tunnel development and tweaks to the 2-litre EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, the new 05RR punches out 100bhp more (385bhp total) and can hit a theoretical top speed of 158kph. Consider also its 640kg dry kerb weight (a 10 percent improvement) and resultant 600bhp/ton power-to-weight ratio: on paper, Mexico’s latest track-weapon actually has more power per ton than a Ferrari F12 tdf, McLaren P1 or the Bugatti Veyron. Good luck Jordan.
