Airport officials were super happy with the plan and (in practically no time at all) the Patrol was hooked up to the plane. A crowd of onlookers gathered and things were a bit tense. I mean, a production vehicle towing a fully laden cargo plane weighing 170.9 ton over 50 metres had never been done before.
This was confirmed by representatives of The Guinness Book of World Records who were hanging out at Sharjah Airport just waiting for a mate. They weren’t sure the Patrol could do it so hung around to check it out.
They hitched that badass Patrol up, it took the strain and nothing happened. The crowd bit lips and sweated brows. Then, summoning up all of its 560 Nm of torque, the Y62 Patrol of awesomeness pulled that weighty winged beast from its slumber…
…and pulled…
…and just kept on pulling until that cargo plane got itself owned by a Patrol and broke a new Guinness World Record while doing so.
