In 1957 the Prince Motor Company released a new model called the Skyline and the rest, as they say, is history. In 1966 PMC merged with Nissan but the Skyline range continued under its new manufacturer with the release of the third generation C10 (Hakosuka) Skyline in 1968.
Now, in its twelfth generation, it is perhaps the most iconic of all Japanese cars and Nissan are celebrating with the release of a special edition 55th Anniversary model of the current V36 Skyline.
Unfortunately, it is Japanese Domestic Market only as the Nissan Skyline is rebadged as the Infiniti G Series for export markets. Something we can get our mitts on is a series of wallpapers and screen savers celebrating 55 years of the Skyline. Every month, Nissan have been drip feeding us a series of beautiful illustrations by artist Eizen Suzuki depicting each successive generation and we have now just passed the halfway mark with the R31. Nissan Japan have also made it easy for us non-Japanese people to navigate our way around the site.
