Unless you have been living under a rock for the past decade, you will know the man they call Nobuhiro “Monster” Tajima. Ok, let’s clarify that statement. You may not know him, but you will certainly have heard of the race that he has so convincingly dominated in recent times, and maybe even recognise the car that he usually hoofs during said race. The race in particular is the legendary Pikes Peak and excusing his attempt last year with an electric car, he has usually been seen ‘hooning’ a 1000+hp Suzuki up the hill. It’s all change this year though.
Judging by this video and most internet chunter, the underpowered Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ has been cherry picked. Throw in a rather juicy selection of tweaks and modifications and you have a proper animal. As you can see.
Although this years road to the clouds is more tarmac than dirt, it certainly looks to be a challenge to nine-time World Rally Champion Sébastien Loeb and his little Pug.
