The Ferrari 458 Speciale gets the NOVITEC ROSSO treatment with carbon fibre, more power, sound, and high-tech forged rims.
[Not a valid template]The NOVITEC Group specialise in Italian exotics and their latest creation has been to give the Ferrari 458 Speciale the ROSSO treatment. Tailor-made carbon-fibre body components developed in the wind tunnel, exclusive interior options and tailor-made 21-inch NOVITEC ROSSO forged wheels are the obvious cosmetic additions. But there is whole lot more going on with this Speciale to make it more unique, exclusive, exceptional, different and yes, I am running out of synonyms for ‘special’.
The NOVITEC ROSSO Speciale features an hydraulic suspension system which can raise the front of the car by 40 millimeters at the push of a button to be able to drive over a curb or navigate a ramp or speed bump. Which is a good thing as sport springs lower the ride height by 30mm.The front reverts to its original position at a second push of the button or automatically upon reaching a speed of 80kph.
And obviously, the NOVITEC ROSSO crew weren’t going to leave performance stock. Power output of the 4.5-liter eight-cylinder engine has been raised to 636hp at 9,250 rpm while peak torque jumps to 572Nm at 5,550 rpm. It also has a fancy exhaust system consisting of two high-performance manifolds, sport catalysts and a rear muffler. The same material used for the exhaust systems in Formula 1 racing, called INCONEL, has been utilised which is extremely heat-resistant, seven kilograms lighter than the standard exhaust and, we are guessing, very very expensive.
Strangely, no prices have been announced but we are guessing somewhere around the “more than you can afford, pal” mark.
