Given his enthusiasm for sporty roadsters, it’s hardly surprising that crankandpiston’s own Phil McGovern has been banging on relentlessly about Jaguar’s latest creation for weeks now. It was with enormous glee then – albeit with very heavy eyelids – that Phil boarded his 7am flight to Europe just a few days ago. As luck would have it, his first night in Paris would coincide with the launch of the new F-Type, an event that would surely eradicate any lingering threads of jet lag.

Unsurprisingly, turn-out for the launch was enormous, with international media representative and the motoring world’s crème-de-la-crème front and centre when the covers were finally pulled from the bodywork. Canon flashes went mad as the F-Type finally stepped into the global spotlight.
