*NOW UPDATED WITH VIDEO* Audi has unveiled the fastest TT model yet, with the debut of a new 400bhp TT RS.
[Not a valid template]Audi has showcased the fastest TT yet following the debut of a new 400bhp TT RS Roadster at this year’s Beijing Motor Show.
Available in coupe and roadster guise, the new TT RS gets Audi’s five-cylinder 400bhp 2.5-litre TFSI engine, which produces 354lb ft of torque and comes mated to a seven-speed S tronic gearbox. The model can sprint to 100kph from standstill in 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 280kph. Expect Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system to come as standard.
Ventilated, perforated steel disc brakes offer stronger stopping power than the standard model, an example of which featured on The Management Fleet for several months. Carbon-fibre ceramic front brakes are available at an extra cost, while the suspension has received a tweak
Exterior styling changes include revised bumpers with larger air inlets, a Singleframe grille, with newly designed honeycomb grille and Quattro logo, a fixed wing sitting on two thin double struts, Matrix OLED rear lights, as well as twin tailpipes to the rear. Alternatively, Audi can deliver the car with an automatically extending spoiler. 19in cast wheels in a five-arm polygon design are fitted as standard, with 20-inch forged lightweight wheels available as an option. Both wheel types are available in silver, matt titanium look or gloss anthracite black. For the discerning Audi fan, there is also a choice of nine exterior colour options, including the RS-specific tones of Nardo grey and Catalunya red metallic. Inside, MMI navigation plus with MMI touch including free text search and natural voice control is featured via a 12.3-inch display. The new Audi smartphone interface technology also displays selected apps from the handset directly in the Audi virtual cockpit.
First deliveries of the new TT RS Roadster are expected to take place toward the end of this year.
