Maserati Quattroporte Ermenegildo Zegna Limited Edition is too fashionista for us to understand.
[Not a valid template]We’re not a stylish bunch at crankandpiston, so the intricacies of the forthcoming Maserati Quattroporte Ermenegildo Zegna Limited Edition may be somewhat lost on us. This author had to look up who or what Ermenegildo Zegna was before writing this story. It turns out that it’s an Italian fashion house, and it’s worked together with Maserati to create a special edition version of the new Quattroporte.
So, what does it involve? The press release tells us, but we don’t really understand. The two firms are, apparently, linked by history, tradition and exclusivity. We’ll take their word for it. The car has a special paint finish that uses ultra-fine aluminium pigments and a gloss black primer, which makes for a sort of platinum-chrome colour. Which sounds nice.
The press release continues: “The material and chromatic research behind the Maserati Quattroporte Ermenegildo Zegna Limited Edition is based on a play between the classical and the contemporary.” We don’t know what that means. We’re told the interior is “moka” and “greige”, which as far as we can tell are made-up words, but they look like grey and brown from the pictures. But they emulate Zegna’s latest men’s fashion collections, so presumably it looks like an expensive suit.
The Maserati Quattroporte Ermenegildo Zegna Limited Edition is just a concept at the moment, and will be debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week, but Maserati intends to put it into production next year. Yay. We think.
