Depending on the transmission variant, the new E-Class comes with two differently designed centre consoles. Auto models have a straight-through design with a control panel in a ‘Black Panel’ glass look. Models with manual transmission are provided with a centre console in the form of two separate trim parts.
The whole design is centred around a long horizontal low-lying sweeping trip from front door to opposite front door, showing an emphasis on width.
New features of the Mercedes E-Class include a new wide high-resolution next-generation dual display (12.3 inches each) with touch sensitive control buttons on the steering wheel, allowing the driver to control the entire infotainment system without taking their hands off of the steering wheel, plus newly designed seats to replicate the female form.
The display can also be controlled via another four buttons in each switch panel, with a touch-pad to the centre.
The driver can choose between three different screen designs: ‘Classic, ‘Sport’ and ‘Progressive’. The display and other key elements in the cockpit can also be backlit with ambience lighting in 64 different colour options.
There is also a new second-generation 3D sound system experience from Burmester, including 24 speakers. The system uses the body structure to amplify the sound.
