Lexus has proven the doubters wrong and built the new LF-LC concept in the form of this; the new LC 500.
Engine | Power | Torque | 0-100kph | Top speed | Weight | Basic price |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
V8, 4969cc | 467hp @ 7100rpm | 389lb ft @ 4800rpm | 'Under 4.5secs' | TBC | TBC | $100,000(ish) |
Lexus has showcased the new LC 500 model with a short video involving a wrecking ball.
The new Lexus LC500, a production-ready version of the LF-LC Concept that made its debut in Detroit in 2012, features the same engine as Lexus’ RC coupe, the naturally 5-litre V8. This is mated to a brand new 10-speed automatic gearbox. Despite boasting low torque levels of 389lb ft, the V8 sends a respectable 467bhp to the rear wheels, not to mention the fact it looks absolutely stunning.
The new Lexus LC 500 isn’t just a new car for the company; it’s a new rear-drive “premium” platform. It does, however, get a very familiar 467-horsepower engine. Besides all that, it looks completely unreal. Cost is set to be in the region of $100,000.
