Turns out 13 can be lucky for some.
Although the Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3 of Darren Turner, Frederic Makowiecki and Stefan Mücke was beaten off the line by Lucas Ordonez in the Nissan GT Academy Team RJN-run GT-R, heavy traffic into The Loop gave Turner the window he needed to jump his Spanish rival. From there, the momentum was unstoppable on Aston’s home turf, and the Aston trio cruised to an easy 20-second victory.

A good start for the GT Academy car was all for naught though as a drive through penalty for Peter Pyzera dropped the Ordonez/Pyzera /Alex Buncombe Nissan down to tenth. The trio though still left Silverstone with Pro-Am victory ahead of nearest class rivals Mark Poole, Richard Abra and Joe Osborne in the Barwell Aston Martin Vantage GT3.

The Belgian Audi Club Team WRT Audis continued their good run of form by cementing the final two steps on the podium, Stephane Ortelli, Laurens Vanthoor and Rene Rast in the #1 entry taking second 35s ahead of Frank Stippler, Edward Sandstrom and Christopher Mies in the sister R8 LMS Ultra. The #13 squad (ironic, no?) was left cursing a delay during the pit stops as Sandstrom took over from Stippler.

All eyes though were on the #23 JDM Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 of Lucas Luhr, Steven Kane and Peter Dumbreck, Kane nailing apexes and personal best sectors around the Northhamptonshire circuit to leap from sixth to fourth on the final lap, deposing Markus Palttala, Henri Moser and Nicky Catsburg in the Marc VDS Racing Team BMW Z4 and Cesar Ramos, Davide Rigon and Daniele Zampieri in the Kessel Racing Ferrari 458 Italia in the process.
Probably should have called spoiler alert at the top, but you might still want to check out he action below.
