There’s one golden rule when it comes to touring car action: rubbin’s racin’. It’s a unwritten rule on-track guaranteed to incense the drivers, keep the stewards busy, get the crowd pumped, and leave body panels and front bumpers littering the circuit. It’s pretty awesome.
Such proved the case at the third round of the DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters) at the Red Bull Ring – formerly Osterreichring – in Austria. In this clip, we ride onboard with 2005 DTM Champion and McLaren Formula 1 test driver Gary Paffett in his HWA Team AMG Mercedes C-Coupe to see just how close the action got.
And if you’re curious, Gary eventually took 9th, while defending champion Bruno Spengler took victory in the BMW Team Schnitzer M3.
