The 1981 World Rally Champion – and Pikes Peak International Hill Climb several months ago backed Sébastien Loeb for victory at this year’s event. Things are looking good too, with the nine-time World Rally Champion having already posted the fastest time in official free practice ahead of the event on June 30th.
This marks the first time Loeb has made the climb, but is not the first time he’s taken the 208 T16 Pikes Peak by the scruff of the neck and given it a spanking. As well as charging on the famous Mont Ventoux stage of the Tour de France, Loeb has also been for a spin at the Pikes Peak International Raceway in Colorado, USA. Check out the videos below for machine-gun like rat-tat-tats from the Peugeot’s exhausts. News on how we can make that our ringtone would be awesome too.
This follows on from news that IndyCar race winner Simon Pagenaud will also be competing at Pikes Peak this year in a 500hp Honda Odyssey fitted with a Garrett GT35R turbocharger. Romain Dumas, a former record holder on the event will be back with a new Norma M20FC PP with which he hopes to scoop his record back again.
