Many may remember last Friday 30 November for the severe downpours seen all over the UAE, but for Porsche Club UAE it was also a track driving experience event at Yas Marina circuit, the 38th such event they’ve hosted in the 14 years the club has been going.
I’ve been an active member of the club for the last four years, and have become more and more involved as time has gone by. The last couple of years have seen me managing the pit lane at track events for the club, which gives me a unique perspective on what’s really happening both on and off track.
Anyone following my escapades with my very own Cayman S with evo Middle East will know I’m waiting for new brakes to arrive from Brembo, so this was one of those occasions where I was happy to help the club, manage the pits and not be out driving.

Time is spent beforehand stamping the Porsche spirit on Yas Marina and the committee and instructors are at the track from 4pm getting things ready.
