Faisal enters the corkscrew chicane. Any time lost through the left-right-left configuration loses you more time on the back straight.
FB: “I haven’t raced the Porsche GT3 in Bahrain or Abu Dhabi. I’ve raced on this circuit in a Radical but it’s a very different beast. The car is not an easy thing to drive!” There’s work to be done for Faisal and the #17 car if they hope to move up the Silver Class field
ATF: “We came in with a strategy just to go out and do our best, and not to compare anything with anyone.” So far the strategy seems to be working for Abdulaziz (or ATF as he prefers). Top of the timings and pole position for race two. Job done.
ATF: “I’m planning to learn how to kite surf. A friend of mine offered to give me a lesson tomorrow. I just enjoy trying different things.” Always keen to try new things, ATF clearly doesn’t need any sleep!
FB: “At the start, I think I stayed on the clutch too long. I got so much wheelspin I didn’t get a good start, and the Haribo car [of Hans Guido Riegel] went past.”
The Saudi Falcons’ hard chargers are given a well-earned rest after a long, long race one. Be sure not to touch those signs lads!
Between races, both ATF and Faisal take a quick breather with the help of a fairly prominent energy drink magnate…
…although sometimes it’s the easy things in life that prove the most relaxing.
