Just as Mr Sebastian was buttoning up his own collection of world records in Japan the Red Bull Running Showcar team were in India pulling off their own crazy records. It’s not like them to do things out of the ordinary though is it?
Neel Jani, the Indian Swiss driver, hopped aboard his F1 Showcar and drove it to the top of the world’s highest driveable road. Khardung-La pass in the Leh region of India reaches a height of 18,380 feet past the famous Thiksey Monastery. This makes Red Bull Racing the first Formula One team to have ever managed to transport, fire-up and drive an F1 car on what is arguably the most challenging terrain on the planet.
That’ll be another record for the Milton Keynes based team then – Another of many I’m sure.
