Okay, we’ll admit that the ‘Red Power’ label momentarily threw us (we realize ‘some are more equal than others’ but this seemed a bit extreme). And yes, it’s not very often we bring you scents and aftershaves on crankandpiston. There was however a couple of points on the accompanying press release that made us sit up and take notice.
Firstly, the new Red Power perfume from Ferrari ‘imbues the soul of the prancing horse’, and any advertising campaign to have waltzed out of Maranello will tell you how difficult that is to get right.
Secondly, 125ml of this little handbag addition will knock you back close to $75, so we recommend you at least have the Louis Vuitton handbag to match.
But what really struck us though is that, apparently, Red Power encompasses Ferrari’s affiliation with ‘performance, excellence and sheer adrenaline’. And it’s not too often you find those ingredients bottled and sprayed delicately about a lady’s neck…
