We could be forgiven for rehashing old material though. The SLR – 617hp from a 5.4l supercharged V8 and a 334kph top speed – was Mercedes’ big hurrah before the arrival of the SLS, and the limited edition Stirling Moss edition – 640hp, 350kph and ruinously expensive $750,000 – had the kind of sleek, agile lines that are normally reserved for stealth fighters.
Sometimes things are worth re-visiting.
