This 3.0 CSL was created in 1975 and would go on to spawn (at the time of writing) 17 more art car BMWs over more than 30 years.

Sadly Calder wouldn’t live to see the impact his design had and the legacy of artistic machines that followed, as he died a year after finishing the car. Thankfully for us, his work has been lovingly maintained so that we can continue to enjoy it.
