Skoda unveils a new design study, the ŠKODA VisionC, ahead of 2014 Geneva Motor Show debut.
Given the company’s relative absence in the region, it’s rare for crankandpiston.com to bring you news and/or features on Skoda (one Rapid-based review and an unearthed 935 aside). And yet, in much the same way Volvo threw a curveball with the Coupe Concept last year, Skoda has now done so with a rendering of its new design language: ŠKODA VisionC.
You know as well as I that any finished concept from Skoda will look almost nothing like this: BMW even now might be wondering how the rear end of its 4 Series Coupe ended up on Skoda’s design easel. Fair play to the Czech marque though, the design is a strong message for the ‘most comprehensive model campaign in corporate history’: chiselled headlights, ridonculous alloys, and bonnet lines so aggressive they’re likely to jump off the page and jab you in the eye. We like.
We doubt this five-door coupe will ever exist, in this form anyway. It does though make you wonder what covers Skoda will throw off at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.
