2. Audi A4 Quattro

As iconic on the track as it was on the rally stages, the Quattro name hits the second spot on our list. An odd choice you might think, given that the A4 has won only one BTCC championship since Frank Biela’s successful 1996 campaign (albeit in Audi Sport’s series debut). That though would be discounting a DTM crown in 1991, a sensational duel between Biela and BMW’s Steve Soper at the tight and twisting Macau in 1996, and a list of former drivers that includes four-time World Touring Car Champion Yvan Muller among others. By 1999 though, the A4 was gone, not to be seen again regularly until Rob Austin Racing re-appeared on the scene in 2011 with four-rings. The first win would fall just two years later at Rockingham and some 15 years after the Audi emblem topped the podium.
