It’s been another busy few weeks for ‘The Management Fleet’ VW ‘Rocco. From doing the mundane tasks of the weekly shop and the school run, to acting yet again as a rig car and not to mention a chase car during a recent Lamborghini Aventador shoot. The little German coupé still surprises and delights in equal measure, however this month has shown up a couple of niggles that can be, on occasion, frustrating.
First up are the doors. To get that beautiful look VW have so convincingly nailed, the doors have had to be HUGE! Not too much of an issue when you are in an open space, but occasionally frustrating when you are dealing with the standard of parking at the local Supermarket.
Next up, the wing mirrors. Happily though, the lovely people at Volkswagen are well on the way to sorting that out for us, with the fitment of a slightly different piece of glass. Job done…
The last one… the rear view. Yes it’s tight, but it’s not really the end of the world to be honest. For a person like myself that likes to sit as low as the seat will allow, I can get a reasonably clear view out the back. However if you like to sit a bit higher up, I can imagine it’s going to be tricky.
Now the big question. Are these niggles reason enough to be off putting. Quite simply no. The car has so much talent and is such good fun across so many disciplines that you begin to forget the foibles and just get on with driving. Next stop 10,000kms >>>
