8. Lada Riva
Known by a plethora of names in markets around the world, the Lada Riva is a Soviet-era success story. Maybe you know it as the Nova, or the 1500, or the Clasico or even the Sputnik – whatever, the point is that this revised Fiat 124, produced by Russian firm AvtoVAZ since 1980, was a massive success, particularly behind the iron curtain. Available in a variety of bodystyles, production only stopped in 2012, which is probably why it shifted 18 million units during its life.
