5.Volkswagen Passat
[Not a valid template]The Passat was first introduced by Volkswagen in 1973, and has been on sale continuously ever since, spanning eight generations and selling in markets around the world. Since 2011 North America has had a different model to Europe, albeit bearing the same name, and the CC variant was introduced in 2008 and helps bump up the numbers. According to VW figures, it’s sold more than 22 million units. Not bad, considering it’s not even Volkswagen‘s best performer.
