6. The car we forgot: Aston Martin Vantage V12 S Roadster
[Not a valid template]We’ve said it before, we’ll say it again: Aston’s seven-speed Sportshift gearbox was the death knell of both the Vantage V8 and V12, unless of course you enjoy your innards being rattled to a fine bisque. It’s an unfortunate factor on an otherwise superb drive, complete with characterful Aston V12 rumble. Compared with our drive in the Corvette Stingray convertible though – complete with magnificent road presence, punchy acceleration and an impromptu Apache helicopter fly-by – the Aston didn’t come close.
