But that’s just what happened this year when – just as we had been in 2014 – X-RAID invited crankandpiston.com to take the Dakar-winning MINI ALL4 RACING machine for an off-road spin.
But that wasn’t all. After a go in the hot seat and a particularly hair-raising passenger lap with ’15 Dakar winner Nasser Al-Attiyah, we also took a class with four-time event winning co-driver Michel Périn to find out how to navigate nearly 1500km of desert across a two-week period.
