5. Bentley GT3-R vs McLaren 650S Spider (September)
[Not a valid template]We didn’t need asking twice when we were offered a spin in the über limited Bentley Continental GT3-R, the most performance-orientated Continental yet and one of only 300 available worldwide. And with its DNA linked intrinsically with the Continental GT3 with which Bentley made its official return to motorsport after a decade, that got us thinking about the McLaren 650S.
Why, you may ask? For starters, both British sports cars are powered by twin-turbo V8s, cost in excess of $290K, and both are road-going alternatives to race-spec machines that jump-started brand new GT campaigns for their brands at the Gulf 12 Hours, just one year apart. What better way to celebrate that than with a road trip from the Yas Marina Circuit to one of the region’s best mountain roads at Jebel Hafeet.
